The short version
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way.
Which links are affiliate links
When a link points to a retailer and contains a tracking parameter, it is an affiliate link. On this site that includes links to Amazon, which carry our Associates tracking tag in the URL. Links to our own Etsy shop are not affiliate links — they are our own storefront.
How this affects what we recommend
It doesn’t. Two rules govern everything we write about:
- We only recommend products we have used in the studio, or that we would genuinely spend our own money on.
- If a product stops being good, the recommendation comes down. We don’t keep links live for products we no longer stand behind.
We are never paid to write a positive review, and we do not accept payment in exchange for a specific opinion. Any sponsored or gifted content would be labelled clearly as such on the page itself.
Amazon specifically
Prettylaws is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
We do not display Amazon prices as live data, and prices and availability shown on Amazon at the time of purchase are the ones that apply. Any price mentioned in our articles is the price at the time of writing.
What it funds
Commissions from affiliate links pay for studio materials, photography, and the time it takes to write and photograph our guides. It is how this site stays free to read.
