This policy explains what information Prettylaws (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We keep it deliberately plain.
Who we are
Prettylaws is a small studio selling custom oil portraits, wearable accessories and nail art. For anything in this policy, contact ymxlianmeng@soacn.cn.
What we collect
- Information you give us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address with our mailing provider.
- Information collected automatically. Like most sites, our server and analytics tools record your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. This is aggregated and used to understand what content is useful.
- Cookies. Small files stored by your browser. We use them for basic site function and for analytics. Affiliate links may also set cookies belonging to the retailer, so that a purchase can be attributed to us.
How we use it
- To answer your messages and fulfil commissions or orders.
- To send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
- To understand which articles and pages are worth writing more of.
- To track affiliate referrals, so commissions are credited correctly.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
Third parties
We share data only where it is necessary to run the site, and only with providers who process it on our behalf:
- Analytics. To measure traffic and page performance.
- Retailers, including Amazon. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer can see that you arrived from this site and may set its own cookies. Once you are on a retailer’s site, that retailer’s privacy policy applies to what happens there. See our affiliate disclosure.
- Etsy. Our shop is hosted on Etsy. Purchases and order communications there are governed by Etsy’s own policies.
- Email and hosting providers. For newsletter delivery, contact form messages, and running the website.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up work. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server and analytics logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email. Email ymxlianmeng@soacn.cn and we’ll act on it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion, and we will not discriminate against you for asking.
Cookies and how to control them
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking analytics and affiliate cookies will not stop you reading the site, but it may mean a referral is not attributed to us. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that limits cookie storage.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we will delete it if we learn that we have.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site, keep software updated, and limit who can access stored data. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted on the site or in the newsletter.
